Eligibility Criteria of The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2019

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is medical entrance exam conducted by CBSE.
The board has laid down some eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam. Although NEET 2019 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (as announced recently), the eligibility criteria will remain the same. NEET Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria

The students need to achieve all these criteria for NEET exam.
  • Educational Qualification - Class 12 Qualified from any recognized university 
  • Age Limit (Minimum) - 17 years 
  • Age Limit (Maximum) - 25 Years for Gen Candidates 30 years for Reserved candidates 
  • Qualifying Marks - Gen 50%, PWD 45% and SC, ST & OBC 40% 
  • Maximum Attempts - No limit within the age 
  • Nationality - Indian Citizen, NRI, OCI, PIO and Foreign National 

Qualifying Marks for NEET 2019

To fulfil the NEET eligibility criteria 2019, candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually in the qualifying examination

Candidates belonging to the unreserved category should score a minimum required percentage of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology in their Class 12 or HSC examination.

Candidates who belong to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes (OBC) should score a minimum of 40% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology in aggregate in the qualifying examination.

For persons with locomotor disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required in aggregate across Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology.

As per MCI, candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects and Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject were declared ineligible for NEET 2018 but the Delhi High Court verdict removed this clause for 2018.
